Advantage Reline partnered with the Rainbow Water District to complete a critical infrastructure upgrade in Bonsall/Fallbrook, California. The project required converting traditional gravity-fed sewer mains to pressurized forced mains while working within the tight constraints of Highway 76—a heavily trafficked corridor connecting two major freeways.

This complex project encountered several key challenges. Traditional excavation methods were not feasible due to right-of-way limitations along the highway, and high traffic volumes eliminated the possibility of lane closures. Engineers needed to design a creative solution to access and consolidate existing infrastructure from four lines into one and extend it just over 1,100 feet. The path included two pits with 45-degree turns and two 22-degree turns.

To overcome these constraints, our team implemented an innovative trenchless installation of a CIPP liner to reinforce the pipe structure, then used Primus Line® technology to support the required PSI and angles. This advanced approach allowed the team to complete the installation without disrupting surface traffic and avoid violating right-of-way restrictions. The technology provided the flexibility required to navigate the complex bends without additional excavation. Remarkably, the entire installation was completed in just one day with no joints or seams across the entire 1,100-foot span, using a class VI structural liner.

The solution enabled a seamless transition from gravity to pressurized sewer mains, securing long-term service reliability for the new developments and improving the system's seismic resilience.
